"3 Palm Trees" in Khattalwada is a farmhouse designed for a family of four. It took about six hours to reach this remote location from Mumbai, situated off a highway in the middle of nowhere. The house's focal elements are its curved roofs, which also function as an amphitheater for stargazing or bird watching. The otherwise neutral and simple home features bay windows and reading nooks, with strategically placed clerestory windows to allow ample natural light and cross ventilation. Capturing frames here was a tricky venture due to the dense tree cover on all sides; nevertheless, the abundance of trees adds to its charm. By the end of my shoot, I understood the reason for such an escape – to get away from the city and bask in the quiet and tranquility of the place. This abode was crafted to ground oneself and feel one with nature, offering a sanctuary away from urban life.
