About
The terminal, designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, draws inspiration from Bengaluru’s garden city heritage, providing passengers with an immersive experience. The captured spaces reflect the fluidity of movement in an airport while preserving the calmness of a garden. Amidst the chaos, I find stillness. The soft light filtering through the woven bamboo on the ceiling creates an atmosphere akin to walking under a canopy, accentuated by details like the hanging plants. Despite its huge scale, the airport has spaces that make you feel enveloped in nature, seemingly forming a path for you to follow through, helping you reach your destination.
The Indian context also provides a diverse backdrop to the photographs, featuring versatile subjects that inhabit it. There is an emphasis on the relationship between the terminal garden and its people as they move through the space, much like you would in nature, looking around in awe.
